Vitalina Kuripka, 16 years old, is originally from the village of Skelky, Vasylivka district, Zaporizhzhia region. She currently lives in Lviv and studies at a medical college. For over two years, Vitalina has been participating in the educational programs of Hope – children of Ukraine.
My journey to English
Since childhood, Vitalina dreamed of speaking English fluently. However, she used to find it very difficult to express her thoughts. Everything changed after she joined the Foundation’s classes.
“Learning here is completely different from school. We do many different activities instead of just working with textbooks. It helped me open up,” she shares.
Results I am proud of
Today, Vitalina is a medical college student, and her English skills are actively helping her in her studies. She understands her lecturers and can respond in English during classes.
Her academic performance has significantly improved: while she previously received grades of 6–8 out of 12, she now consistently achieves the highest grade.
Life during the war and the path to my goal
The full-scale war changed Vitalina’s life and forced her family to relocate from their home.
Despite these challenges, she did not give up on her dream. She is now confidently moving toward her goal of becoming a doctor.
“What helps me keep going? Probably my desire to live and to become a doctor,” she says.
Dreams for the future
Vitalina plans to become a doctor. She understands that English is essential in modern medicine, so she continues learning it alongside her medical studies.
In her rare free time, she enjoys watching movies and listening to music, which helps her relax and recharge.
Words of gratitude
“The most important thing is not to give up. Step by step, we will definitely reach victory! Thank you to everyone who supports us on this journey”
