We are used to stories where a child starts speaking like a native speaker after just three months. But in reality, especially now, progress often looks very different:
- A child turns on their camera during class for the first time in a month.
- A student stops being afraid of making mistakes and asks the teacher a question in English.
- A child completes their homework independently, without reminders.
- A student smiles at the teacher’s joke.
For a child affected by war, these steps are huge achievements. They mean that the mind and heart are beginning to heal.
At Hope – children of Ukraine, we value these “quiet victories” just as highly as successfully passed exams. Because this is where every big journey truly begins.
