Alina` s story

Alina is 13 years old and comes from the city of Bakhmut, which she considers her home and the best place on Earth. However, with the onset of the war, her family was forced to leave their home and move to Kyiv. Alina studied online with her school for a long time. Adapting to the new environment was not easy. She had to find new friends and get used to her new city.

One thing that helped her cope with the difficulties was her love for ballroom dancing. During her classes, she could forget all her worries. It was here that her knowledge of English proved useful, as international masterclasses are often conducted in English. Alina realized that she wanted to improve her skills both in dancing and in the foreign language. This would allow her to participate in such events, understand the instructors, and communicate with other dancers.

Alina also dreams of traveling. Although she believes that her beloved Bakhmut is unmatched, she is eager to explore the world and learn about new cultures. English, being the language of international communication, opens many opportunities. It will help Alina communicate freely with people from other countries, gain new knowledge, read books, and develop in various fields. Alina hopes that these skills will help her contribute to a future world without war.
