History of the Department of Comprehensive Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities
Established in 2004, the Department of Rehabilitation has become an important support center for children with disabilities. In 2021, it was integrated into the Department of Complex Rehabilitation, continuing to help children and adults with cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorders and other disabilities.
Every year, up to 60 people receive help: from the first steps to learning independence. Rehabilitation success rates reach up to 70%, giving hope for a decent future.
Positive results:
Many children undergo rehabilitation for several years. Important achievements include the development of speech, the acquisition of walking skills and the ability to respond adequately to external stimuli. This indicates progress that opens up new opportunities for life.
The department remains an important place for children and adults with disabilities, helping them not only to live, but also to live with dignity, taking the first steps towards a brighter future.
Successful cases

One of the examples of how the work of the Department changes lives is the story of Kirill. He was born with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy and by the age of eight could not move on his own. His parents were looking for ways to help their son, and turned to the Department. After several rehabilitation courses, constant work with specialists and the use of aids, Kyrylo took his first independent steps. For his parents, it became a real miracle.
Kostya
Another story that shows the importance and power of rehabilitation in the Department is the story of Kostya. He was born with a severe genetic disease and has been a ward of our department for 20 years.
Another story that shows the importance and power of rehabilitation in the Department is the story of Kostya. He was born with a severe genetic disease and has been a ward of our department for 20 years. Since childhood, it was difficult for him to interact with the world around him. But thanks to consistent rehabilitation work, Kostya achieved significant success in the social and household sphere.
Now, thanks to the support of the Department’s specialists, he has learned to perform simple household tasks on his own, which is a huge relief and a great achievement for his family. These changes in Kostya’s life show that even with severe genetic diseases, it is possible to achieve positive dynamics and improve the quality of life.
Mariyka
Mariyka’s story: the first steps to new opportunities. Mariyka was born with damage to the central nervous system, which hampered her physical development and motor abilities.
Mariyka’s story: the first steps to new opportunities. Mariyka was born with damage to the central nervous system, which hampered her physical development and motor abilities. Like every child, especially with an illness, she needed a special individual approach.
From the first days of her stay in our Department, rehabilitation specialists worked to support her development. Thanks to the hard work of specialists and Mariyka herself, she finally took her first independent steps. This moment was incredibly touching for her family.
When the father crossed the threshold of the Department for the first time and saw his daughter walking on her own, tears of joy appeared in his eyes. This was Maryika’s first step in a literal and symbolic sense, opening new opportunities and ways to a more independent life.
Today, Mariyka continues to visit the rehabilitation department, where she works in a social and household rehabilitation group and works with a physical rehabilitation specialist to improve her skills and expand the limits of her own capabilities.
